JUNE 12 - 13, 2010 == SPRING EXIBITION PICTURES

Report by Roger Austin

Everything was in place Friday evening with a large group of exhibitors and volunteers ready for the Saturday morning opening of the 28th Annual Antique Gas & Steam Engine Exhibition. But the Saturday morning drizzle dampened spirits a little as breakfasts were served. Visitors and late arriving exhibitors trickled in. Pleased that anyone would show up, the gate fee was waived with hopes word would spread. Apparently it did. The weather cleared enough by late morning to get the draft horse pull underway. Exhibits spread down past the Collection Building. There were more individual, group, and Museum exhibits than ever. What was lost that first day at the gate was regained in the kitchen. Sunday crowds were even larger. For the first time, there were no empty spaces on the grounds with activities extending from the chicken house and barn at one end to the sawmill and plowing at the other. In all, it was an excellent Exhibition in every way with an estimated 2,000 visitors, exhibitors, and volunteers attending.
