Fall Exhibition Overcomes Stormy Weather
Cloudy skies Saturday and rain showers Sunday failed to dampen the Fall Exhibition. The antique tractor pull had to be cancelled, but the following weekend saw competitors and friends return to complete the unfinished business. The campus was filled with many exhibitors and visitors from one end to the other. The dedication of Schoolhouse No. 12 brought out many who had attended a one-room school. School children in 1890’s costumes were fun to see. Rows of classic tractors surrounded the Antique Tractor Building still under construction. The pedal tractor pulls and races enjoyed the new concrete. Visitors lingered longer in exhibit buildings as weather became more uncertain, and food service was kept busy as folks chose to spend a bit more time near the kitchen and ice cream corner. The three Saturday pull competi-tions (miniature horses, draft horses, and garden tractors) were successfully concluded. The improved network of roads kept mud to a minimum; and no one’s car, truck or camper got stuck. Everyone felt it was one of the best shows ever, always our goal.
